The IT section fulfills the most important functions of a computer centre:

• Conception, implementation and further development of IT procedures, infrastructure and IT-standards
• Operating of networks and server (including e.g. software acquisition and updating)
• Data securing and storage
• Data safety and data protection
• Administration and looking after workplace computers
• Development of applications (e.g. databases)
• Administration of software licensing
• Counselling, support and help with the acquisition of IT technology (e.g. software and hardware acquisition, further training needs)
• Cooperation in the field of information technology
