Library
The German Police University (DHPol) maintains one of the most comprehensive police libraries in Europe, comprizing about 100,000 items. Being a reference library it is not only accessible to individuals working or studying at the DHPol but also both to external students, scientists or academics. The library inventory is accessible electronically. Internet access and access to legal information data bases and research data banks for police literature are being granted.

Police Historic Collection
The police historic collection is affiliated with the library. It includes an exhibition focussing on ‚100 years of police education work’. In this context, police training and further training in Germany are being highlighted, the period stretching from the era of monarcy until the end of 20th century. Along with the educational analysis, the political and social context of police education are under review.
Furthermore, the collection includes more than 12 000 publications covering the subsequent areas: police law, crime, criminology, organisational development and history of the German police.
